Red Rock Center Restoration
When the Martin County Preservation Society (MCPA) took over the building, it was in extremely bad condition. The stone facing was collapsing and the roof was leaking badly. The interior was also in bad condition due to years of use and abuse. MCPA organized a group of highly talented and dedicated volunteers, and also raised a substantial amount of money. After 40,000 hours of volunteer labor and a great deal of hard work, the building and stained glass windows were restored to pristine condition. On September 16-18 2005, Red Rock was officially dedicated to the citizens of Martin County and the City of Fairmont. Subsequently MCPA raised $42,000 to purchase an antique Steinway grand piano.
